Sign of Poor Tire Balance

You can tell if your front tires are unbalanced if you can feel vibrations in your steering wheel, even if it's only enough that it feels "off" for a second. Another sign is if you hear odd noises coming from your tires that you hadn't noticed ever before. This is especially the case if you notice it's more pronounced when you accelerate. If your tires are worn out along the edges, it's a surefire sign that your wheels need to be balanced. Also, if you notice that one of the tires is losing pressure, it's definitely time to bring them to a professional for this service.

How Often Should I Get My Tires Balanced?

One time when you should get your wheels balanced is when you have the tires rotated. This is usually every 5,000 miles or about once every one to two years. If you regularly drive on rough rides, it's a good idea to have this done once per year. If you get a flat tire and repair it, then you'll want to have them all balanced out. This is also good to do when you get a new tire(s) put onto your vehicle.
